Composite Mesh

Composite Mesh

Currently, in all areas of infrastructure construction, reinforced concrete technology is used. Reinforced concrete structures are a combination of steel and concrete. It’s hard to imagine modern construction without this material, especially since the combination of steel and concrete allows for optimal utilization of the best properties of both materials.

But is it really? While concrete in such structures bears significant compressive stresses, and steel reinforcement bears significant tensile stresses, the weak point of such constructions is precisely the steel, which, under the influence of harmful contaminants or carbonation of concrete, undergoes corrosion. Corrosion of steel is an almost unavoidable process. The points of corrosion that form are the cause of stress, cracking, and spalling of concrete cover, completely exposing the metal reinforcement. Corrosion of steel reinforcement leads to a decrease in the structural strength and, consequently, its destruction.

The best way to extend the durability of concrete structures.

Composite mesh for reinforcing concrete is primarily used in construction to strengthen reinforced concrete elements: screeds, floors, walls, ceilings, as well as in structural elements such as concrete pads, roads, and bridges.

The purpose of using composite mesh is to increase the strength of the structure and substrate, provide resistance to shrinkage, and optionally protect underfloor heating.

Reinforcement meshes made of TROKOTEX composite, available on the Polish construction market, are designed for use in concrete structures instead of traditional steel reinforcement. This is an innovative solution produced using the pultrusion method. As a result of this process, a composite is created consisting of a large number of individual fibers arranged in parallel, embedded in a polymer matrix based on epoxy resin.

Advantages and benefits

Benefits of using TROKOTEX meshes made of epoxy resin-based composites and glass fibers:

Investor savings – due to the fully automated production system, composite mesh is CHEAPER than steel.

Composite glass fiber meshes consist of rods with diameters of 3, 4 mm, bound in meshes ranging from 50 to 150 mm, most importantly, they are completely drawn with a spacing of 10 columns. They are distributed in rolls and sheets, optimizing transportation costs.

No maintenance

Lighter 9 times than steel

Up to 30% cheaper than steel

High adhesion to concrete

Products

Composite reinforcement mesh. Diameter fi 3mm, 100×100, 1x50m

The only company in Poland producing with National Technical Approval and ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 Certification.

Application

In civil and engineering construction

Strengthening of concrete structures, stiffening of concrete and composite panels, reinforcement of concrete, brick, and stone floorings, as well as building walls.

In industrial construction

Strengthening of industrial floors, reinforcement of floor substrates, reinforcement of water barriers and coastal structures, non-corrosive reinforcement for pool construction or renovation, utilized in agricultural and food industries. TROKOTEX composite reinforcement, one of the few, is used in wastewater treatment plant construction, where aggressive and humid environments are present.

In road construction

Strengthening of road plates, highways, and airports, stiffening of road and railway embankments, reinforcement of bridges and bridge structures, stainless steel fences and barriers.
